MANILA, Philippines - With Christmas just around the corner, technology companies are adding some festive cheer by unveiling their newest products to consumers here in the country.

Below are some of the latest offerings that promise to provide a merrier Christmas this year.

Alcatel OneTouch

Alcatel has tied up with Yahoo! to provide a mobile phone for consumers on the go who want to stay connected to the latter's popular Internet services.

Priced at P5,999, the Alcatel OneTouch is pre-loaded with a suite of Yahoo! products, from mail and messenger to social pulse, which aggregates feeds from Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites.

The phone, which comes in 3 colors, was brought to the Philippine market last week.

"We believe that easy access to Yahoo!'s incredibly popular Internet services will make the Alcatel OneTouch Net a must-have for Filipinos who are in the market for a unique and powerful mobile phone," said Darren Sy, general manager for ClearSight, the Philippine distributor of Alcatel mobile phones.

For his part, Yahoo! Philippines general manager Jack Madrid said, "We partnered with Alcatel mobile phones who designed an affordable mobile phone that will offer consumers a very intimate connection to the Yahoo! experience."

The OneTouch Net phone packs 80 megabytes of memory (which is expandable to 8 gigabytes via a micro SD card), a 2-megapixel camera, GPRS, an MP3 player, FM radio and stereo, and Bluetooth 2.0 technology.

HTC Mozart

Here's another tie up, this time from software giant Microsoft and mobile phone firm HTC.

The HTC Mozart, powered by Windows Phone 7, was recently launched in the Philippine market in an effort to help users "get things done faster."

It supports wi-fi, 3G and Bluetooth, and has an 8-megapixel camera.

"Microsoft and its partners are delivering a different kind of mobile phone and experience -- one that makes everyday tasks faster by getting more done in fewer steps and providing timely information in a 'glance and go' format," said John Bessey, managing director of Microsoft Philippines.

The Mozart is initially available through local telecommunications firm Smart Communications Inc. The company earlier kicked off road shows in Metro Manila to promote the newest Windows Phone 7 device.

Flip HD camcorders
Cisco Flip Video, meanwhile, unveiled new devices that aim to help Filipinos on the go capture special moments such as Christmas celebrations in high definition (HD) more easily.

The MinoHD and UltraHD flip video camcorders, released early this month, features enhanced HD video quality and hardware-based image stabilization, among others.

All devices are also pre-loaded with FlipShare software version 5.9, which helps organize, edit and share videos on Twitter and Facebook.

"From travelers recording their travel memories to mothers remembering their baby's first steps, Flip Video camcorders make it easy to share precious moments," said Craig Gledhill, vice president of Cisco Consumer Products, Asia Pacific and Japan.

The UltraHD, which has an 8-gb memory, is priced at P12,995. The MinoHD, meanwhile, comes in 1-hour and 2-hour variants and cost P9,995 and P10,995, respectively.
