MANILA, Philippines - The country posted a balance of payments (BOP) surplus of $13.2 billion in January to November, according to central bank documents.
The figure meant Manila recorded a BOP surplus of $3.9 billion in November alone, the highest for any single month since at least 2008, the documents obtained by Reuters on Monday show.
The documents were dated Dec. 9. The central bank will release official November BOP data later on Monday.
The surplus puts the government on track with its budget deficit goal of P325 billion or 3.9% of gross domestic product this year.
The deficit hit P10.5 billion in October and P270.3 billion in the first 10 months of the year. - Reuters
