MANILA, Philippines – Cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo, girlfriend of Hayden Kho, said the Pasig Regional Trial Court’s decision todismiss the case filed by Katrina Halili against her boyfriend is “a big blessing.”
“It's the best Christmas gift I could ever hope for and of course Hayden also kasi napakabigat noon (case). Kahit anong ginagawa namin, at the back of our minds, may worry. Pero ngayon peaceful,” Belo said.
Halili charged Kho with violation of Republic Act (RA) 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act, after their sex video, which she claimed was taken without her consent, went viral last year.
Kho, Belo said, was “very grateful” and he even offered a mass after he found out about the decision. “The nice thing about him, I think the whole thing happened para bumalik siya sa Diyos.”
The cosmetic surgeon was also not surprised when told that Kho, who is busy promoting his perfume, expressed his desire to talk to Halili. She surmised that Kho wants closure.
“Alam mo si Hayden kahit ano mangyari wala siyang sama ng loob kahit kanino. ‘Yon ang ina-admire ko sa kanya na sobra siyang forgiving. Wala akong naririnig. Never siyang nagsasabi ng bad things about anyone. Gusto lang naman niya closure I suppose. Hindi ko lang alam kung kailan mangyayari yan pero sana soon para maka-move on na ‘yong dalawa,” she said.
Halili’s camp is planning to appeal the court’s decision, and Belo said that is already expected.
She said: ‘They have the right to appeal. It just feels good to be vindicated for him. Ang sarap ng feeling na ganito. Baka makuha na niya ‘yong lisensya niya.”
The medical license of Kho, who is also a cosmetic surgeon, was revoked by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as a result of the scandal. The PRC board came up with the decision after Halili lodged a complaint before the commission.
