Abunda: A Christmas wish for Toni-Mariel reconciliation

MANILA, Philippines – The country’s King of Talk, Boy Abunda, revealed on Friday that one of the best possible gift he would want this Christmas would be the reconciliation of actresses Mariel Rodriguez and Toni Gonzaga.

Abunda has been very vocal that Rodriguez is one of his favorite wards in Backroom while Gonzaga is very dear to him. He works with Gonzaga every Sunday on top weekly entertainment show “The Buzz.”

“Isa ‘yon sa pinakamalaking regalo na mamatanggap ko sa Pasko. Sana ay mangyari. Because Toni is very close to me. Kung matutuloy iyan, in their own time, natural ‘yong volition ng kanilang pag-uusap, sana ay matuloy. It would be one of the best Christmas gifts that I’d receive this Christmas,” the veteran host said.

Abunda shared to ABS-CBN News that his advice for the 2 talented young actresses is to just let time take its course. “Ang advise ko sa kanila bigyan niyo ang bawat isa ng panahon, dahil maraming napapalambot, maraming nahihilom ng panahon,” he said.

It was last September when Gonzaga admitted that she and Rodriguez were not on good terms after finding out that the latter had purportedly been badmouthing her. Both, however, have expressed that they are open to ending their rift.

Abunda also confirmed that he will be meeting Rodriguez on Saturday to discuss the career plans of the actress.

“Magkakaroon po kami ng pag-uusap ni Mariel bukas sa aking bahay. So, doon mag-uusap po kami tungkol sa mga plano namin pagdating sa kanyang karera... Lahat ng mga detalye. Halimbawa ano pa ang mga nais niyang gawin, ano pang mga plano, ay malalaman natin sa aming pag-uusap bukas,” he related.

New BIR project endorser

Meanwhile, Abunda signed a contract with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on Friday as the bureau’s “Premyo Para sa Resibo” project endorser.

According to Abunda, he is elated at the opportunity he was provided since he will be able to help the country in his own way.

“Ako ho ay natutuwa dahil ako ho’y bahagi dito sa proyektong ito. Madalas pinag-uusapan ho kasi natin, lalo na ngayon, na we’re moving forward as a nation... May pinupuntahan ang ating bayan. Ang sarap panoorin na parang umuusad ang ating bansa. ‘Yong ating proyekto na “Premyo Para sa Resibo” para sa akin ay isang paghikayat po sa taong bayan na building a nation does not require just the president, the bureaucracy and big politicians,” Abunda said.

The TV host was chosen by the BIR since he is one of the most credible endorsers of the country. Moreover, BIR official believes that with the help of Abunda, this project will go a long way and succeed.
