MANILA, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed multiple charges of frustrated murder against Alpha Phi Omega (APO) member Anthony Leal Nepomuceno after several witnesses positively identified him as the perpetrator of the Bar exam blast last September 26.

Nepomuceno, a call center agent, surrendered yesterday to Vice-President Jejomar Binay, a fellow APO member.

No less than the Department of Justice has issued warnings that he surrender immediately, supposedly due to strong evidence.

APO is being blamed for supposedly coddling Nepomuceno.

Binay however denied the allegations, saying “no group is holding him.” He stressed Nepomuceno should only be treated as a suspect up to now.

The fateful blast injured more than 47 people. One of the victims, Raissa Laurel, lost both her legs.
