MANILA, Philippines - Dancing flight attendants surely caught netizens' attention in 2010.
YouTube, the world's largest video website, has ranked the video "Cebu Pacific FAs dancing" as one of the year's most shared videos, the website said Tuesday.
The video, which showed flight attendants demonstrating safety instructions to passengers by dancing to a mash-up of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" and Katy Perry's "California Gurls," ranked 8th in the "Top 10 Most Shared Videos of 2010" list.
The video went viral days before the local budget carrier successfully listed its shares in the Philippine stock exchange where it raised over $600 million to expand its fleet.
"We dug through our data to pull out the top 10 Most Shared videos of the year. These are the videos from the past year that had the most views from social networks like Facebook and Twitter," YouTube said in their YouTube Trends blog.
"Each of the top 10 had at least 1.5 million views via sharing platforms," the site said.
As of posting, the video had more than 9.6 million views.
"Interestingly, a significant portion came from the latter part of the calendar, and YouTube's biggest lip-sync star this Fall, teenager Keenan Cahill, makes more than one appearance," the site added.
The honor of the year's most shared video was "Teenage Dream(with me)," showing Cahill lipsynching to Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream."
